Apologies for absence were submitted on behalf of Councillor Hosker.

Additional items of business

To determine whether there are any additional items of business which, by reason of special circumstances, the Chair decides should be considered at the meeting as a matter of urgency.

3.

Declarations of Interest

To receive any declarations of interest from Members relating to any item on the agenda in accordance with the provision of the Code of Conduct and/or indicate if S106 of the Local Government Finance Act 1992 applies to them.

 

Members should consider whether any of the items listed on the agenda represent a conflict with any interests previously declared or new interests.  They should also consider whether their register of interests requires updating as a result of any new undeclared interests.  It is a requirement in law that any new or changed interests are declared within 28 days.  It is incumbent on Members to notify Officers of these changes.

Exclusion of the Public

To consider the exclusion of the Public from the meeting before discussion takes place on the following item of business on the grounds that in view of the nature of the business to be transacted, if the public were present there would be a disclosure to them of exempt information within the meaning of Part VA of the Local Government Act 1972.

RESOLVED, THAT: The public be excluded from the meeting before discussion took place on the following item of business on the grounds that, in view of the nature of the business to be transacted, if the public were present, there would be a disclosure to them of exempt information within the meaning of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.

Review of a Private Hire Driver's Licence

During the opening formalities, it was established that it would be helpful for all parties to have the assistance of somebody who was able to act as interpreter.

 

As it was not possible to arrange this at such short notice, the sub-committee RESOLVED at 2:29pm to adjourn the meeting for five minutes to consider how to proceed.

 

MAKB and the Licensing Officer left the meeting at this point.

 

At 2:42pm the sub-committee reconvened and MAKB and the Licensing Officer returned to the meeting.

 

The Chair announced that the sub-committee considered that it would not be in the interests of natural justice to proceed until all parties were able to be assisted by somebody who was able to act as interpreter.

 

RESOLVED, THAT: The sub-committee be adjourned to 2:30pm on Thursday 8th May 2025.
