Minutes:

That Councillor Anne Kelly be appointed as Chair of the meeting.

Minutes of the last Meeting

To approve as a correct record the Minutes of the last meetings held on 20th and 27th April 2017..

The Minutes of the meetings held on 20th and 27th April were approved as a correct record.

3.

Application to renew a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

To determine whether to grant or refuse an application to renew a private hire vehicle licence.

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer reported on an application from KH to renew a private hire vehicle licence.  The Licence had exceeded the upper age limit of 8 years as defined in the Council’s vehicle age limit policy and had been referred to Committee for determination.

 

KH was present at the meeting.

 

Members of the Committee considered the maintenance records for the vehicle and inspected the vehicle.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the vehicle licence PV0155 be renewed for a period of six months backdated to 13th April 2017 due to it being in exceptional condition which justified departing from the Council’s age limit policy.

Application to renew a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

To determine whether to grant or refuse an application to renew a private hire vehicle licence.

 

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer reported on an application from AG to renew a private hire vehicle licence.  The Licence had exceeded the upper age limit of 8 years as defined in the Council’s vehicle age limit policy and had been referred to Committee for determination.

 

AG was present at the meeting and was represented by MB.

 

Members of the Committee considered the maintenance records for the vehicle and inspected the vehicle.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the application to renew the private hire vehicle licence PV0111 be refused on the grounds that the vehicle is not considered to be in exception condition as required by the Council’s Vehicle Age Limit Policy.

 

In particular the Committee found that there was insufficient  evidence produced to demonstrate that the vehicle had been regularly maintained to support the application.

 

 

 

5.

Application for a Private Hire Driver's Licence

To determine whether to grant or refuse an application for a private hire driver’s licence.

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer reported on an application by AQ for a private hire driver’s licence.

 

AQ was present at the meeting.  He was accompanied by AS and represented by RM.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the application for a private hire driver’s licence be granted.
