Exclusion of the Public

To consider the exclusion of the Public from the meeting before discussion takes place on the following items of business on the grounds that in view of the nature of the business to be transacted, if the public were present there would be a disclosure to them of exempt information within the meaning of Part VA of the Local Government Act 1972.

Minutes:

That the public be excluded from the meeting before discussion takes place on the items relating to Minutes 32,and 33 since in view of the nature of the business to be transacted, if the public were present there would be a disclosure to them of exempt information

Application to Renew Private Hire Driver's Licence

To determine whether the holder of a Private Hire Operator’s Licence and a Private Hire Driver’s Licence is a fit and proper person to hold such licences.

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer reported on a renewal application by MJL for a private hire driver’s licence.

MJL was present at the meeting.

 

RESOLVED

That the renewal application for a private hire driver’s licence for MJL be granted.

Private Hire Operator and Driver- Motoring Convictions and Failure To Comply

To determine whether an applicant for a private hire driver’s licence is a fit and proper person to hold such a licence.

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer reported on the conduct of CMR the current holder of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence and a Private Hire Operator’s Licence.

 

CMR was present at the hearing, with KY also present as legal representative.

 

RESOLVED

(1)That having regard to the conduct recorded against CR the current holder of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence, the licence be revoked without immediate effect under Section 61 (1) (b) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 on the grounds that CMR was not considered to be a fit  and proper person to hold such a licence; and

 

(2) That having regard to the conduct recorded against CMR the current holder of a Private Hire Operator’s Licence, the licence be revoked without immediate effect under Section 62 (1) (b) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 on the grounds that CMR was not considered to be a fit  and proper person to hold such a licence.
