RESOLVED

That Councillor Anne Kelly be appointed Chair of the meeting.

To receive any apologies for absence.

Apologies were received from Councillors Howard Baker and Liz Monk.

To approve as a correct record the Minutes of the last meeting.

The Minutes of the last meeting held on 14^th March 2017 were confirmed as a correct record.

To consider the exclusion of the Public from the meeting before discussion takes place on the following items of business on the grounds that in view of the nature of the business to be transacted, if the public were present there would be a disclosure to them of exempt information within the meaning of Part VA of the Local Government Act 1972.

Minutes 19 and 20 – Information likely to reveal the identity of an individual

To determine whether the holder of a private hire driver’s licence is a fit and proper person to hold such a licence.

The Licensing Officer reported on convictions against  FM,  the holder of a private hire vehicle licence, which fall within the Council’s Taxi Licensing Convictions Policy.

FM was present at the meeting.

RESOLVED

That no further action be taken but FM be issued with a warning as to his future conduct.

To determine whether an applicant for a private hire driver’s licence is a fit and proper person to hold such a licence.

The Licensing Officer reported on an application by MK for a private hire vehicle licence and on convictions to which the Council’s Taxi Licensing Convictions Policy applies.

MK was present at the meeting.

RESOLVED

That the application for a private hire driver’s licence be granted.
