To consider the exclusion of the Public from the meeting before discussion takes place on the following items of business on the grounds that in view of the nature of the business to be transacted, if the public were present there would be a disclosure to them of exempt information within the meaning of Part VA of the Local Government Act 1972.

Application to renew a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

To determine whether to grant or refuse an application to renew a private hire vehicle licence.

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer reported on an application from IA to renew a private hire vehicle licence.  The licence had exceeded the upper age limit of 8 years as defined in the Council’s vehicle age limit policy and had been referred to Committee for determination.

 

IA was present at the meeting.

 

Members of the Committee inspected the vehicle and found it to be in exceptional condition which justified departing from the Council’s age limit policy.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the application to renew the vehicle licence (PV 0307) be granted for 6 months backdated to 22nd March 2017.

Application to renew a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

To determine whether to grant or refuse an application to renew a private hire vehicle licence.

 

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer reported on an application from SA to renew a private hire vehicle licence.  The licence had exceeded the upper age limit of 8 years as defined in the Council’s vehicle age limit policy and had been referred to Committee for determination.

 

SA was present at the meeting.

 

 

RESOLVED

 

That a decision to renew the vehicle licence (PV 0021) be deferred until 27th April 2017 to allow the applicant time  to produce documentation in support of his application.

Application to renew a Private Hire Vehicle Licence

To determine whether to grant or refuse an application to renew a private hire vehicle licence.

 

Minutes:

The Licensing Officer reported on an application from SA to renew a private hire vehicle licence.  The licence had exceeded the upper age limit of 8 years as defined in the Council’s vehicle age limit policy and had been referred to Committee for determination.

 

SA was present at the meeting.

 

Members of the Committee inspected the vehicle and found it to be in exceptional condition which justified departing from the Council’s age limit policy.

 

RESOLVED

 

That the application to renew the vehicle licence (PV 0016) be granted for 6 months backdated to 7th April 2017.
